OMRON Healthcare Shares Hypertension Insights at ESH Congress 2018
OMRON Healthcare teams up with clinical professors to share with physicians the latest blood pressure monitoring technology for patients with Obesity and Sleep Apnea.
HOOFDDORP, July 2, 2018 - Between June 8th and 11th, 2018 OMRON Healthcare joined the annual meeting of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) in Barcelona, Spain, as exhibitor, as well as host for a scientific symposium. Prof. Dr. Gianfranco Parati hosted the symposium on the topic of “Hypertension Related Cardiovascular Risks in Obesity - New perspectives and monitoring Technology”. In his presentation Prof. Dr. Parati explored the problems physicians are facing with the diagnosis and treatment of obese patients. The other speakers, Prof. Dr. Roland Asmar, spoke about Obesity and the need of validated blood pressure monitors for this special group and Prof. Dr. George Stergiou shared the latest insights regarding Sleep Apnea related Hypertension in Obesity.
During the exhibition OMRON Healthcare presented blood pressure monitors which on top of the general validation, also have been validated for special groups like obese people, pregnant women and diabetics. Also, the new body composition monitor VIVA was presented as a device for obese people in their fight against overweight and hypertension which represent a high risk for developing higher cardiovascular events.
The ESH congress was visited by 2.700 delegates from Europe, Southern America and Asia.
